UPDATE: Marilyn Manson Parts Ways With Longtime Bandmate Twiggy Ramirez

UPDATE: Twiggy Ramirez released a statement regarding his departure from Marilyn Manson. He says:

“I wish to spend this time with my family and focus on maintaining my several years of sobriety. i will be taking a leave of absence from marilyn manson and regrettably will not be performing on the upcoming tour.”

 

Last week, Jeordie White aka Twiggy Ramirez was accused of rape by his former girlfriend Jessicka Addams, from the band Jack Off Jill. In response to these allegations, Marilyn Manson has fired the longtime bassist and songwriting partner.

“I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson. He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well.

When news originally broke, Manson released a comment saying he “knew nothing about these allegations until very recently” and he was “saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress.”

Adams posted a lengthy letter on Facebook describing several acts of physical abuse and mental harassment she experienced while dating Ramirez in the early 90s. Read her letter here.
