AFI Share Haunting New Ballad ‘Tied To A Tree’

AFI have shared another cut from their upcoming album, Bodies.

Unlike previously released singles from the record, “Tied To A Tree” is a haunting, emotional ballad. Davey Havok sounds shaken and vulnerable as he sings “Bound, by dying stars/to a burning tree you give searing stares/tied up by your hair where we used to meet/to see how we would look in the dying light.” And while the song isn’t an in-your-face rager, the hard-hitting percussion and dreamy guitars still hit you pretty hard.

On the new song, guitarist Jade Puget says “This is not only my favorite song on the record, but an exemplification of the evolution of the band.”

“Tied To A Tree” will be released on a limited edition Flexi disc. Pre-order a copy while supplies last here.

Last month, AFI unveiled “Dulcería” and “Far Too Near” from the upcoming album. Bodies comes out June 11th.
