Beyonce Announces Long-Awaited Album ‘Renaissance’

The wait is over. Beyoncé has announced her long-awaited new album, Renaissance, set for release on Friday, July 29th.

The album’s title and release date were revealed on Spotify’s, Apple Music’s, and Tidal’s Twitter accounts. Beyoncé also updated her personal Twitter and Instagram bios, and a product listing for the album appears on her website.

Though we don’t have many album details just yet, British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful talked about the upcoming release in a new magazine feature.

He said the album features “soaring vocals and fierce beats.” Enninful went on to describe it as “Music that makes you rise, that turns your mind to cultures and subcultures, to our people past and present, music that will unite so many on the dance floor, music that touches your soul. As ever with Beyoncé, it is all about the intent.”

Renaissance will be Beyoncé’s first album since 2016’s Lemonade. In 2020, she released the one-off single “Black Parade” and last year she released “Be Alive” for the film King Richard.
