Biffy Clyro Premiere New Single ‘Instant History’

Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro return with their new single “Instant History.” The song comes from their eighth album, which they’re currently working on.

They also shared the accompanying music video, which features footage of the band performing the track spliced with clips of a girl dressed in a bizarre costume, a red-faced man with a horse’s tail and a teenager dressed in the armor of old-school football padding. Watch the trippy video below.

“‘Instant History’ is the biggest, most slammest pop moment we’ve ever worked on,” said frontman Simon Neil. “And thematically it’s a good pointer for what the album is about: learning from mistakes and realizing how you can move things forward. Things can be similar although they’ll never be the same, but let’s not be scared of that.”

“Instant History” marks Biffy Clyro’s first new release since their 2019 soundtrack album to the film Balance, Not Symmetry. They released their last studio album, Ellipsis, in 2016.
