Billy Idol Teams Up With Avril Lavigne On ’77’

Billy Idol has teamed up with Avril Lavigne on his latest single, “77,” which is taken from his forthcoming album, Dream Into It.

The follow-up to the previously released single “Still Dancing” takes a cue from Lavigne’s book with its pop punk sound and vibrant energy. Watch the animated video directed by Spencer Ramsey below.

In an interview with Heavy Consequence, Idol spoke about the inspiration behind “77” saying, “ I was just sort of ruminating about how today in America, it’s not so different from what it was like in the seventies in England.”

Idol and Lavigne will also perform the new track on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, April 28th.

Idol’s new album, Dream Into It, arrives on Friday, April 25th. Pre-order it here.

Idol will kick off his North American tour with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts next week. See all his dates here.
