Hear Billie Joe Armstrong Cover ‘Kids In America’ For Mike Dirnt’s Birthday

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong celebrated bassist Mike Dirnt’s birthday with a cover of Kim Wilde’s “Kids In America” as part of his “No Fun Mondays” series.

The accompanying video shows Armstrong writing out the song’s lyrics while a drawing of Dirnt as a unicorn dances to the song.

“This week’s No Fun Mondays is dedicated to the one, the only, Mike Dirnt. Happy birthday! Play this one loud just for him: We’re The Kids In America, originally by Kim Wilde and then recorded later by The Muffs,” Armstrong wrote in the video description.

Watch the video below.

Last week, Armstrong shared his cover of Starjets’ “War Stories” and surprised us with a hump-day edition of “No Fun Mondays” with his cover of Don Backy’s “Amico.”
