Blessed Announce New EP ‘III’

Alt rock band Blessed have announced their new EP, iii, set to release on February 19th, 2021 via Flemish Eye Records.

Emphasizing the band’s sense of community and collaborative driven spirit, the four-track EP was self-produced and recorded at Vancouver’s Rain City Recorders. Vocals were tracked at friends’ houses across Abbotsford. Vocalist Drew Riekman gives credit to the previous generation of DIY artists in Fraser Valley with helping them foster a sense of local responsibility and solidarity that Blessed aims to capture.

In addition to the EP, the band have shared their new single “Structure,” mixed by John McEntire.

Speaking about the track, the band says “‘Structure’ deals with complacency and failing to explore the depths of your actions compared to the words you espouse and values you proclaim to have. If you can’t acknowledge your imperfection and flaws, you don’t leave room to listen and grow. If you’re always trying to teach, you can’t be taught.”

Blessed released their full length debut, Salt, in 2019. Last year, we sat down with Riekman to discuss the new album and the band’s journey so far. Revisit the interview here.
