Bodom After Midnight Release ‘Payback’s A Bitch’ From ‘Paint The Sky With Blood’

Today (April 23), Bodom After Midnight have released their debut EP, Paint the Sky With Blood, in honor of the late Alexi Laiho. To mark its release, the band have shared new track “Payback’s a Bitch.”

As you would expect, the track is a raging surge of blazing guitars, heart-pounding drums, and Laiho’s unmistakable shrieking vocals. The song is a pummeling assault that grips you and won’t let go until it’s over. It’s sure to please fans who have missed Children of Bodom since their breakup.

Listen to the song below.

“Like ourselves, Alexi was beyond stoked about these songs and anxious to get these out, so we are happy that we can fulfill his wish,” said the band’s surviving members. “Needless to say, we are honored and proud to be a part of his very last creative work and to unleash it the way he wanted it. It’s time to let the beast out of the cage one more time as a celebration of Alexi’s music, legacy and the man himself.

Paint the Sky With Blood was recorded in Finland in 2020 and was meant to mark “the beginning of an exciting new chapter.” Along with “Payback’s a Bitch” and the previously released title track, the EP also includes a cover of Dissection’s “Where Dead Angels Lie.”
