Brent Hinds Leaves Mastodon After 25 Years
Mastodon and vocalist/guitarist Brent Hinds have parted ways after 25 years.
The band broke the news in a statement, which reads:
“Friends and Fans, After 25 monumental years together, Mastodon and Brent Hinds have mutually decided to part ways. We’re deeply proud of and beyond grateful for the music and history we’ve shared and we wish him nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors.”
Mastodon continued, “We are still very inspired and excited to show up for fans in this next chapter of Mastodon. As we move forward, all 2025 touring plans will remain intact. We look forward to seeing you on the road.”
Hinds appeared on all eight of the band’s studio albums. His final record with Mastdon is 2021’s Hushed And Grim. Currently, the band has not announced plans for Hinds’ replacement.
Mastodon will proceed with their tour plans, which include an appearance at Tool’s Dominican Republic festival, Tool in the Sand, followed by a co-headlining tour with Coheed and Cambria. See all their dates here.
