Cardi B Is The First Female Rapper With Two Number one Singles On The Hot 100

2018 is truly the year of Cardi B! She just became the first female rapper in music history to score two Number One hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 thanks to her latest track “I Like It.” Her previous chart-topper was 2017’s “Bodak Yellow,” which spent three weeks at the top spot on the Hot 100.

Cardi B breaks the record previously held by Lauryn Hill in 1998 for “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and Iggy Azalea in 2014 for “Fancy.” Both topped the Hot 100 once as the featured artist. Lil Kim and Shawnna also got the Number One spot as a featured guest for “Lady Marmalade” and Ludacris’ “Stand Up” respectively.

As that wasn’t enough, Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy is the first album to spawn two Hot 100-topping singles since Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ topped the charts in 2013 with “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us” from their album The Heist. On top of this, she is also the first female artist since Lady Gaga to get two Number One singles off her debut album.

Congrats to Cardi B and listen to her latest single, “I Like It below.”
