Watch Corey Taylor Stick It To Cheesy Rock Bands In ‘Samantha’s Gone’
Corey Taylor has shared his goofy new video for “Samantha’s Gone,” a track from his debut album, CMFT.
The meta clip features actor Dean Cameron arriving on set to direct the music video for the song. Taylor plays the frustrated cameraman whose forced to look on while a corny glam rock band hams it up on stage. After Cameron practically fires the band, Taylor and pals take over to try and win over the picky director. Keep your eyes peeled for cameos from Steel Panther, Tom Sandoval of Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules and Greg Grunberg, Ace Von Johnson, Travis Miguel, and Jonah Nimoy.
“The video for ‘Samantha’s Gone’ served two purposes: Making fun of so-called ‘indie rock’ bands and getting all my friends together to hang out and have a good time,” Taylor said in a statement. “We all went back and forth between having fun and social distancing. Watching the first ‘band’ was great, then being fired from our own song in favor of Steel Panther was the icing on the cake — can’t wait for everyone to see it!”

This past weekend, Taylor teamed up with Foo Fighters‘ Taylor Hawkins and Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney to perform as Ground Control at the virtual David Bowie birthday celebration. The night also featured unforgettable performances from Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Gary Oldman, and more.
