The Cure’s Robert Smith Reveals Meltdown Festival Lineup

Last month, it was revealed that The Cure’s Robert Smith had been picked to curate this year’s Meltdown Festival. Now, Smith has announced the lineup and it’s pretty awesome. The preliminary lineup features My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Placebo, Manic Street Preachers, The Libertines, Mogwai, The Psychedelic Furs, The Church, Kristin Hersh, The Notwist, and Mono.

“As each invitee confirms, as each shimmering piece falls into place, I pinch myself – this is really happening,” Smith said in a statement, “and the complete picture will undoubtedly be out of this world!”

Meltdown Festival 2018 takes place at London’s Southbank Centre from June 15 – 24. Tickets go on sale March 15. Click here for more information.

Meanwhile, The Cure has their own massive gig happening at London’s Hyde Park to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Special guests include Interpol, Ride, Slowdive, Goldfrapp, The Editors, and The Twilight Sad. The show takes place July 7 as part of the British Summer Time event series.
