Watch The Trailer For Dave And Virginia Grohl’s ‘From Cradle To Stage’ Series

The first trailer for Dave Grohl and his mom, Virginia Hanlon Grohl’s new docuseries, From Cradle to Stage.

The six-part series, directed by Dave Grohl himself, is based on his mom’s book From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars. Each episode will focus on one rock star and their mother as they “explore each artists’ upbringing and the tools they received as a young talent to survive the turbulence of success.”

Premiering May 6th on the Paramount+ Network, the debut episode will feature Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons and his mother, Christene Reynolds. Future episodes will feature Pharrell and Dr. Carolyn Williams; Miranda Lambert and Bev Lambert; Brandi Carlile and Teresa Carlile; Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and Mary Morello; and Rush’s Geddy Lee and Mary Weinrib.

“I believe that the relationship between a musician and their mother is so important because it’s the foundation of their understanding of love, which is surely every artist’s greatest muse,” Dave Grohl said in a statement. “Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed some light on the music that they inspired, but also made me appreciate the love that I was given from my own mother, my best friend. It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who have given us life. For without them, there would be no music.”

The Foo Fighters frontman also has a new documentary titled What Drives Us, which explores what inspired musicians to make great sacrifices, hop in a van, and chase their musical dreams. The film will premiere as part of Amazon’s Coda Collection on April 30th. Check out the trailer here.
