Depeche Mode Post Cryptic Countdown Clock On Website

Depeche Mode are prepping an announcement. The band recently launched a countdown clock on their official website.

Fans who visit depechemode.com/mementomori are greeted with a clock counting down to a week from today and a form. Those who submit the form are then given links to pre-save new music. Additionally, the band have also deleted posts from the Instagram page hinting that something new is on the way. Many speculate it’s the reveal of a new single along with a release date for their upcoming album Memento Mori.

Memento Mori, due for release March 2023, will be the first album since the passing of founding member Andy Fletcher. “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time,” Martin Gore explained in a statement. “After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”

“Fletch would have loved this album,” Dave Gahan added. “We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”

In support of the new album, Depeche Mode will embark on a global tour shortly after its release. Check out those dates here.
