Foo Fighters Will Headline Opening Night Of New DC Venue The Atlantis

The Foo Fighters will headline a series of inaugural shows to celebrate the opening of a new 450-person capacity venue in Washington, DC dubbed The Atlantis.

Built as a replica of the original 9:30 Club, The Atlantis will open its doors on May 30th with a run of 44 special shows, kicked off by the Foo Fighters themselves. The venue will also host headlining shows by Pixies, The Struts, Tegan and Sara, Franz Ferdinand, Billy Idol, Spoon, Portugal. the Man, The Walkmen, and more.

Tickets for these shows will be priced at $44 each, non-transferable, and will be sold via a lottery-style process. Ticket request forms are currently open.

“After the opening series, our intention is to book only the shows that matter,” said Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P and owner of The Atlantis, in a statement. “We want people to rely on us to tell them that someday you will say you saw them when. We have no calendar to fill. We will curate like no other venue.”
