Hear Green Day’s New Song ‘Here Comes The Shock’

Over the weekend, Green Day premiered their new song “Here Comes the Shock” as part of NHL’s big Outdoors at Lake Tahoe game between the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights.

The song is a quick and dirty punk rock anthem that’s sure to be a concert favorite, whenever Green Day can get back to the stage that is. The song’s repetitive hook of “Here comes the shock” along with its high-energy riffs are reminiscent of 80s’ punk rock ragers.

The accompanying video, directed by Hilken Mancini and Punk Rock Aerobics, features Mancini working up a sweat with her punk rock-inspired exercise routine featuring moves like the skank, Iggy’s punk, air guitar, and more. Watch the video below.

“Here Comes the Shock” originally scheduled to debut on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 20) during the Colorado Avalanche and Las Vegas Golden Knights game, but poor ice conditions forced the game to be postponed. According to Rolling Stone, the song officially dropped after midnight ET. The song marks Green Day’s first new music since their 2020 album Father of All Motherfuckers.

In completely unrelated news, Green Day rivals The Network are scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon this Friday, February 26th at 10:35 CST/11:35 ET. The Network’s new album Money Money 2020 Pt. II: We Told Ya So! is out now.
