Green Day To Perform ‘Dookie’ And ‘American Idiot’ On 2024 Tour
Green Day will celebrate two of their classic albums, Dookie and American Idiot during their summer stadium tour.
To celebrate the 30th and 20th anniversaries of Dookie and American Idiot respectively, the band will perform the albums in full on each stop of their stadium tour. Green Day made the announcement during their recent appearance on the Howard Stern Show. They also shared the news on social media saying: “Each night of The Saviors Tour we’re playing both Dookie AND American Idiot in full AND a bunch of your other favorites new and old all summer long!”
Bassist Mike Dirnt confirmed plans with Rolling Stone saying “What a fuckin’ moment it’s going to be. We’ve never done anything like this before. And there’s a really good chance we’ll never do it again.” He estimates it’ll take 90 minutes for the band to perform both albums, which leaves 35 – 45 minutes for “other stuff,” including tracks from their new album Saviors.
Green Day’s new album, Saviors, drops this Friday. Pre-order it here.
The band will launch the Saviors tour with The Linda Lindas, Rancid, and Smashing Pumpkins in May. See all their dates here.
