Green Day Tease Hella Mega Tour With Fall Out Boy And Weezer
It looks like something big is happening with Green Day!
Last night (Sept. 8), Green Day posted a clip on Instagram teasing an announcement on September 10th for the Hella Mega tour, featuring Weezer and Fall Out Boy.
Posted on the now locked account @hellamegatour, the clip features Billie Joe Armstrong sporting a homemade Hella Mega shirt singing a revamped version of “Wake Me Up When September Ends” featuring the line “Wake me up on September 10th.” The clip ends with Tre Cool smashing Armstrong’s guitar.
Rumors of the tour began when Armstrong tagged both Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo and Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz in a comment on The Office actor Rainn Wilson’s September 6th Instagram post.
In addition, several radio DJs across the U.S. have teased possible music from all three bands, along with a tour announcement. Fans also posted cryptic fliers given to concert-goers outside a Philadelphia-area venue seemingly teasing the tour. Others have reported receiving mislabeled merchandise they didn’t order.
Alongside the Hella Mega Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts, there’s also a website that’s been active for roughly a month. Going to it leads to a gif of Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Shrute and a password prompt.
So what are they up to? We’ll find out tomorrow!
