Linkin Park Return With New LP, New Singer, And New Tour

After much teasing and speculation, Linkin Park have announced their comeback with new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara. A new drummer, Colin Brittan, is also joining the band. Original drummer Rob Bourdon will not be a part of the reunion.

Additionally, the band announced a new album From Zero, out November 15th via Warner. As a preview, the band have shared “The Emptiness Machine,” their first new music in seven years.

“Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero,” explains Mike Shinoda. “This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future – embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

The band explains rather than restart the band, they wanted to spend more time together and reconnect creatively. During this time, they invited other musicians to join them and discovered a special kinship with Armstrong and Brittan.

“The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created,” said Shinoda. “We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”

In addition, Linkin Park embarks on a six-date “From Zero” arena tour this fall. The trek starts September 11th in Los Angeles and will make stops in Brooklyn, New York, Hamburg, Germany, London, England, and Seoul, South Korea. It will also include a November 11th gig in Bogota, Colombia.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, September 7th; pre-sales start on Friday, September 6th.
