Louder Than Life And Welcome To Rockville Postponed To Fall 2021
U.S. rock festival promotor Danny Wimmer Presents has given us an update on which festivals are and are not happening this year.
The promotor revealed Florida’s Welcome to Rockville will be moved to November 11th-14th 2021 alongside other fall festivals Louder Than Life (September 23rd-26th) and Aftershock (October 7th – 10th). Meanwhile, Sonic Temple and Epicenter won’t be back until 2022.
Aside from Aftershock, no lineups for 2021 festival have been revealed. Aftershock’s 2020 headliners Metallica and My Chemical Romance will return for this year’s event. The lineup also includes Limp Bizkit, Rancid, The Offspring, Social Distortion, Rise Against, Volbeat, Machine Gun Kelly, Mastodon, and more.
Danny Wimmer Presents also revealed a new partnership with the creators of Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival. The 2021 festival will take place July 23rd – 25th at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio.
“Taking our festivals down last year was one of the most painful experiences our company has ever lived through,” stated Danny Wimmer. “And it wasn’t just painful for us, it was hard on the bands, fans, partners, cities and vendors. It has become clear to us that we will not be able to have our festivals this spring, and for a variety of reasons, it is not possible to produce all of our annual festivals in the window of Fall 2021, so we made the difficult decision to only produce Aftershock, Welcome to Rockville and Louder Than Life this year.”
He added, “Focusing on these three events, along with Inkcarceration Festival at the end of July gives as many fans as possible, from all over the country, the chance to rock again.”
