Madonna Announces New Album ‘Madame X’

The Queen of pop is back! After posting numerous teasers online, Madonna has announced Madame X, her fourteenth album and follow up to 2015’s Rebel Heart.

She made the announcement in an Instagram video, where she introduces us to her new persona, Madame X, who is “a secret agent traveling around the world, changing identity, fighting for freedom, and bringing light to dark places.”

She continues: “Madame X is dancer, a professor, a head of state, a housekeeper, an equestrian, a prisoner, a student, a mother, a child, a teacher, a nun, a singer, a saint, a whore, and a spy in the house of love.”

The clip is accompanied by a new, piano-driven composition in which Madonna sings, “The thing that hurt the most was that I wasn’t lost.”

Check out the teaser below.

Madonna previously teased her new LP by performing her new song “Beautiful Game” at the Met Gala last year.
