Ahead of the release of his new album, WE ARE CHAOS, Marilyn Manson has shared his new song “Don’t Chase the Dead.”
The song packs a harder punch than lead single “WE ARE CHAOS,” yet it doesn’t try to recapture the intense aggression of his Antichrist Superstar days. Rather, Manson goes for a Bowie Berlin-era sound, which works to his advantage.
Speaking about the track to Consequence Of Sound Manson says: “It sounds like the end of the world, in a way. That really was what I was trying to capture. We’ve sort of painted ourselves into the end of the world as human beings, but I think there is a hope in it. And there’s always a hope in art, or you wouldn’t make art. You can’t be a nihilist and an artist at the same time, it’s not possible.”

Previously, Manson shared the title track from his upcoming album WE ARE CHAOS, out Friday, September 11th via Loma Vista Recordings. The 10-track LP was produced by Manson and Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker). Pre-order WE ARE CHAOS here.
