Metallica Announce First Show Of 2020 For ‘Encore Drive-In Nights’ Series
Metallica have announced their first live show of 2020 as part of a one-night-only broadcast shown at drive-in and outdoor theaters throughout the United States and Canada on August 29th.
The performance is being filmed for the new Encore Drive-In Nights series, which broadcasts specially filmed concerts for screenings at drive-ins and outdoor theaters. The band’s show will be filmed at an undisclosed location in Northern California. This marks their first concerts since a pair of S&M2 shows with the San Francisco Symphony last year. Three Days Grace will play support for the upcoming show.
Pre-sale tickets for Metallica’s Fifth Member fan club go on sale Wednesday, August 12th. General tickets go on sale Friday, August 14th. Each ticket admits a carload of up to six people and will include four digital downloads of Metallica’s upcoming live album, S&M2, which comes out August 28th.
Recently, Metallica posted a video of the band in the rehearsal room together for the first time since the pandemic started. The band will appear on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on August 12th. The band was also announced as one of the headliners for Aftershock Festival 2021.
