Green Day’s Mike Dirnt Teases New Music
Seems like Green Day has been working on new music, according to bassist Mike Dirnt.
During an interview with the band’s own Oakland Coffee for its “Morning Roast” series, Dirnt gave an update on what he’s looking forward to next, which includes new music.
“New music… and unknown adventures.” Nice! Though he didn’t have much more to say on the matter, he did reveal where he gets his inspiration from:
“Individual expression, anything from music, and architecture, to cooking or gardening. I’m inspired by people with a unique take on life and the things they do.”
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong also joined the interview and spoke about what gets him inspired:
“Inspiration comes in all forms for me. It could be hearing a new song, it could be going surfing, it could be hanging out with my dogs. I could just be hanging out with my friends and playing music together. Inspiration is sort of overrated. I’d prefer to work. When you work with music and art, you usually come up with something you love. And that’s what inspires you to keep doing what you love.”

Green Day will embark on the Hella Mega Tour with Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and The Interrupters this summer. Check out the dates here.
