MTV Announces Nominees For 2022 Video Music Awards
Surprise, surprise the VMAs are still a thing. MTV announced the nominees for the 2022 edition.
Leading this year’s nominees are Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Nas X leading the pack each with seven nominations, followed by Doja Cat and Harry Styles with six, and Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and the Weeknd with five.
Other notable nominees include Jack White, Muse, Foo Fighters, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, who will all be duking it out over Best Rock. Meanwhile, Maneskin is up for Best Alternative and Best New Artist along with Baby Keem, Dove Cameron, GAYLE, Latto and SEVENTEEN. Wet Leg’s performance of “Chaise Longue” has been nominated for Push Performance of the Year.
This year the VMAs are introducing its new category Best Metaverse Performance which includes performances from Minecraft, Fortnite, and more. Up for this award are Twenty One Pilots, BLACKPINK, BTS, Charli XCX, Justin Bieber and Rift Tour ft. Ariana Grande.
