Muse Returns With Heavy New Single ‘Won’t Stand Down’

Muse have returned with their heavy new single “Won’t Stand Down.

Though the verses have a similar, synth laden vibe as their last album Simulation Theory, the hook is where things get intense. Crunching guitars, metal leaning riffs, and frontman Bellamy sounding defiant as he sings “won’t stand down/I’m growing stronger/won’t stand down/I’m owned no longer/won’t stand down/you’ve used me for too long, now die!”

“‘Won’t Stand Down’ is a song about standing your ground against bullies, whether that be on the playground, at work or anywhere,” says singer Matt Bellamy. “Protecting yourself from coercion and sociopathic manipulation and to face adversity with strength, confidence and aggression.”

The song is accompanied by a Jared Hogan-directed video filmed in Kiev, Ukraine. Watch it below.

Alongside the song, Muse also announce dates for their 2022 European tour. Shows kick off with their set at Germany’s Rock AM Ring on June 3rd and wrap up July 10th in France. Check out the dates here.
