New Order Release New Song ‘Be A Rebel’

New Order have shared their new song “Be A Rebel,” marking their first new material in five years.

Originally, the song was to be released during the band’s fall tour, but the trek was postponed due to the global pandemic. Instead, they’ve decided to share the track digitally. It’ll also be released on 12-inch vinyl and CD with remixes at a later date as well.

“In tough times we wanted to reach out with a new song,” said Bernard Sumner in a statement. “We can’t play live for a while, but music is still something we can all share together. We hope you enjoy it… until we meet again.”

New Order’s co-headlining tour with Pet Shop Boys, which was scheduled to kick off this month, has been moved to fall 2021. Their 2021 North American trek starts on September 18th in Toronto and wraps with a two-night stint at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 15th and 16th. New Order will also play a one-off London show on November 6th at The O2. Find all their dates here.

New Order’s latest album, Music Complete, was released in 2015.
