Surviving Nirvana Members Reunite For Benefit Concert

The surviving members of Nirvana are gearing to reunite this weekend. Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear will team for a performance at Heaven is Rock & Roll Gala at the Palladium in Los Angeles this Saturday (Jan. 4).

Grohl, Novoselic, and Smear previously reunited at Foo Fighters’ Cal Jam Festival in 2018. They’ll also be joined by several close guests, including Beck and St. Vincent, as well as Grohl’s daughter Violet. The black tie gala event will also feature performances from Marilyn Manson, Cheap Trick, and L7.

Proceeds from the gala will benefit The Art of Elysium, which supports people in the midst of difficult emotional life challenges including illness, hospitalization, displacement, confinement, and/or crisis. Tickets are available for purchase through The Art of Elysium’s website. Learn more about the foundation here.

Meanwhile, Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters have released the next EP in their “Foo Files” series. Titled 00959525, the EP features studio versions of “Winnebago,” “Podunk” and “How I Miss You” along with live recordings of “Floaty” and “Alone + Easy Target” captured during a BBC Evening Session. Also included is a cover of the Ace Frehley track “Ozone.” Stream the EP here.
