Olivia Henry Shares Empowering New Single ‘In My Touch’

Indie-pop songstress Olivia Henry is feeling good about herself and she wants everyone to know about it. Henry recently shared her empowering new single “In My Touch.” With a similar soulful vibe as Florence and the Machine and Sia, Henry sings about rediscovering and enjoying herself and not giving a damn about anyone else.

Speaking with B-sides and Badlands she says the song “evokes a kind of raw feminine sexual power: a strength that I felt while writing it. I wanted to inspire a fierceness, a desire, a sexual need and anticipation for the next phase of life.”

The song is meant to be Henry’s reintroduction to the world. The modern sound of the song differs greatly from her neo-Jazz style heard on her 2014 debut EP, Sessions. “I don’t want to be grouped in with other vocalists or current trends. I’d like to pave my own lane.” Olivia says in a press release. “I’d like to make people say ‘I want to sound like that!’ Like I did with Ella Fitzgerald when I was a little girl.”

The track comes from Olivia Henry’s first full-length album, Part I – Expectations, out February 5 via Timbaland’s publishing imprint, Bluestone. Previously, she shared the song “Gotta Run,” which can be found on the upcoming LP.
