Pink Speaks Up On New Protest Anthem ‘Irrelevant’

Pink has released her new song “Irrelevant,” a protest anthem that sees the singer urging her fans to fight for their rights. Proceeds from the song will be donated to When We All Vote, the national, nonpartisan voting initiative created by Michelle Obama.

The song was written by Pink along with songwriter and producer Ian Fitchuk, marking their first collaboration.

“As a woman with an opinion and the fearlessness to voice that opinion, it gets very tiring when the only retort is to tell me how irrelevant I am,” Pink said in a statement. “I am relevant because I exist, and because I am a human being. No one is irrelevant. And no one can take away my voice.”

The song came about after the singer faced backlash on social media. for speaking out against the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe V. Wade. Never one to bite her tongue, Pink used the criticism to write the new.

“Woke up. Got heated. Wrote song. Coming soon,” Pink tweeted alongside what appeared to be the handwritten lyrics to a new track called “Irrelevant.”
