Salem Announce New EP ‘Salem II,’ Share New Single
Last year, Will Gould’s Salem promised new music would be released in 2021. And they’ve made good on their word. Salem have announced their new EP, Salem II, out May 7th via Roadrunner Records.
To preview the upcoming release, they’ve shared the EP’s lead single “DRACULADS.” Everything about the songs screams classic UK punk rock from Gould’s dramatic vocals to the upbeat energy and gritty guitars. But of course, Gould has to add his own twist, which comes during the mellow, doo-wop inspired bridge.
Talking about the new track, the Creeper frontman says:
“DRACULADS is the sound of two lovers kissing in a bar fight. It is an over-the-top love song literally about falling in love with a vampire.
“The video is a period piece and tells the story of two punk rock kids dating in England, in 1985. It was filmed in one single day and shot at many historic musical landmarks in Manchester. For the two indoor scenes I built sets in my apartment, at one point transforming my own bedroom into the home of one of our characters. It is chaotic and romantic, destructive and dramatic just as the song it was shot for.”
