Serj Tankian Announces New EP ‘Elasticity,’ Shares New Song

System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian has revealed details for his upcoming EP, Elasticity, out March 19th.

The new EP features five songs that Tankian wanted to record with System of a Down but decided to release as solo tracks due to creative differences within the band.

“When I conceived possibly doing another record with the guys from SOAD a few years back, I started working on a set of songs that I arranged in rock format for that purpose,” he explained. “As we weren’t able to see eye to eye on the vision going forward with a SOAD album, I decided to release these songs under my moniker.”

In addition to this, Tankian also shared the title track from the upcoming EP. The Vlad Kaptur directed music video features Tankian as a singing tattoo on the protagonist’s arm, who is stuck in a waiting room from hell. Watch the video below.

Serj Tankian’s new documentary, Truth to Power, comes out February 19th. Meanwhile, System of a Down recently shared the music video for their new song “Genocidal Humanoidz.”
