Slipknot Announce 25th Anniversary North American Tour
It’s finally happening. Slipknot have announced their 25th anniversary North American tour celebrating their 1999 self-titled debut. The band also confirmed that their new drummer is Eloy Casagrande formerly of Sepultura.
“Every time I’ve walked on stage, it’s never been about how many people have been there because my culture, the maggots, always show up,” says founding member Shawn “Clown” Crahan of the upcoming tour.
“But as we’ve grown as a band, we have had fewer and fewer of those intimate, personal moments, trading them for massive ones. So we’re gonna make it more personal on the anniversary, but how remains to be seen. Just get ready to have your face kicked in. Because we just do what we do, spread that maggot culture – that disease. And you’ve been infected.”
The first leg of the “Here Comes the Pain” tour kicks off on August 6th in Noblesville, Indiana, and runs through an August 17th show in Toronto. The second leg starts September 7th in Auburn, Washington, and wraps up with the Knotfest Iowa Festival on September 21st in Slipknot’s hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. Knocked Loose will support the entire run, while Orbit Culture and Vended will open select shows.
