What’s Going On With Slipknot?

It’s been a confusing day for maggots. Earlier today Slipknot seemingly revealed to have parted ways with sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones after 27 years. The band shared a brief statement on their social media pages but didn’t go into detail about the split.

“To our fans, Slipknot have announced that we have parted ways with Craig Jones,” the band wrote. “We wish Jones all the best for the future.”

Shortly after the post was made on their social media channels, it was removed causing confusion among the fanbase. Some even suspect their account was hacked and the post was fake.

No reason for Jones’ departure has been given and there’s no confirmation if he will be replaced on the band’s European tour, which starts tonight (June 7th).

The news comes on the same day that co-founder Shawn “Clown” Crahan revealed he’d be sitting out the band’s upcoming tour, which is definitely true.

He revealed the news on Facebook:

“Hello to all of our fans, it’s the clown. I would like to take a moment to tell everyone that I’m back home supporting my wife through some health issues, and I’ll be back on the road as soon as I can. We’ve been through this before and as always, we appreciate the love and support. See all of you very soon.”

No word on how much of Slipknot’s tour Clown will miss. The band will play at numerous festivals throughout June, including Download and Copenhell. In July, they’re slated to play Rock Fest and Inkcarceration. Check out all their dates here.
