The Black Keys Share New Song ‘Lo/Hi’
The Black Keys are back! The blues-rock duo have released “Lo/Hi” their first new song in five years. Written and produced by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney themselves, the song was recorded at the Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Check it out below. So far, there’s no word whether this means a new album is on the horizon.
The duo will play at the Woodstock 50th anniversary festival alongside JAY-Z, Chance the Rapper, Cage the Elephant, Robert Plant, Greta Van Fleet and more. Get all the details here.
Though The Black Keys haven’t released a new album together since 2014’s Turn Blue, the two have been keeping busy with their own separate projects. Auerbach launched Easy Eye Sound record label, named after his recording studio, in 2017. Recently, he produced Dee White’s debut album, Southern Gentleman, which as well as Yola’s debut LP, Walk Through the Fire. Auerbach also co-wrote recent tracks with Tim O’Brien and Cactus Blossoms. Auerbach’s released his second solo album, Waiting On a Song, in 2017.
Meanwhile, Carney has produced and recorded new music with a variety of artists including co-writing and producing Calvin Johnson’s 2018 LP, A Wonderful Beast. He also produced his partner Michelle Branch’s 2017 LP, Hopeless Romantic. Carney also wrote the theme music for Netflix’s BoJack Horseman with his late uncle, Ralph Carney.
