The Last Bees Share Retro Rock Inspired New Song ‘Can’t Wait’

Milwaukee based musician Ian Ash wants to take you back to the days when rock and roll was fresh and Elvis Presley’s hips were a danger to Middle America with his latest project The Last Bees.

Inspired by the retro rock of The Beatles and Buddy Holly, The Last Bees’ music is unapologetically upbeat with earworm hooks and infectious melody. Ash’s influences ring loud and clear, but he adds a dose of modern pop making to avoid sounding like a carbon copy.

Their feel-good vibes are best heard on their new single “Can’t Wait,” which recently premiered over at Impose. Speaking about the song, Ash says “This was the first song I wrote for The Last Bees. It became the guiding roadmap which would define how our debut EP would sound.” Check out the lyric video below.

The song comes from The Last Bees’ new self-titled EP. Stream it here. They’re currently playing shows across the Midwest. Find all their dates here.
