Twitter Q&A Time With Mike Shinoda From Linkin Park
As promised, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda took to Twitter again to reply some fan questions. He had posted before that he prefers Q&A’s on social media over “real” interviews, inviting all journalists and fans to send him questions.
Yesterday, Shinoda talked about his upcoming solo performance at Summer Sonic festival in Osaka, Japan, Chester Bennington tribute pins and the shock of his computer crashing while several new videos were saved on it. He also explained how his fans can make him tour in their city. You can read all of his replies below.
Mike Shinoda has just made headlines with an unexpected solo EP called “Post Traumatic”. On the EP’s three tracks, Shinoda deals with the aftermath of Chester Bennington’s death and the rebuilding of his band Linkin Park after the horrible trauma. The track “Over Again” even entered Spotify’s Viral 50 on #1 in Germany.
I'm trying to decide if I should do my (MS / Fort Minor) songs for the #SummerSonic shows, or just do covers of Bell Biv DeVoe. I'll get back to you when I make up my mind. #PostTraumatic https://t.co/MB7XjrKp1q

I asked about that tribute pin (the one with CB's signature). I think we're going to be able to make them (but in a silver color, so the bronze ones are still unique). https://t.co/otadz3pVQ6

It turns out, my computer almost got taken out by an old Wacom driver. All my music is backed up elsewhere, but I was more concerned I was going to lose a couple videos I was making for new songs. #PostTraumatic https://t.co/6RE75VrtDM

I'm planning to do a solo show. Kinda like the last few shows I did with Fort Minor — just me and my gear. But more lights. Lots more. https://t.co/W0M3zR8E6H

There's a long way to go before I max out on number of name changes. I think Wu Tang set the bar: https://t.co/G4vcwqesHC https://t.co/fd70TJz6KS

In terms of where I play shows: it's up to you. Share, tweet at / call your music stations (radio/video/etc.), & make noise. Tell them you want to hear #PostTraumatic. If the agents & promoters know the fans want a show, it'll happen. But you have to make yourself heard. https://t.co/cvbPC83O4r

No, its overall activity. Combination of everywhere you listen to music. But the more active you all are (in whatever your favorite place to listen to music or watch videos), the more likely it is I can come play. You gotta share, retweet, repost, and be active. https://t.co/3tNnjp11FF
