R.E.M., Hayley Williams, Phoebe Bridgers, Death Cab For Cutie, And More Featured On New Voters’ Rights Compilation

Some of indie rock’s best and most notable artists have contributed to the new charity compilation album, Good Music To Avert the Collapse of American Democracy.

The 40-track album features a collection of previously unreleased demos, live tracks, remixes and covers from artists like R.E.M., Hayley Williams, Jamila Woods, Phoebe Bridgers, Angel Olsen, Grouplove, Jamila Woods, Rostam, Flume, Weyes Blood, and more.

Included is The National’s Matt Berninger’s cover of The Cure‘s “In Between Days,” Soccer Mommy’s Saving Jane Cover, King Tuff’s “Evergreen” demo, a live track from Preservation Jazz Hall and more.

Other contributors include The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, Real Estate, Sylvan Esso, Frankie Cosmos, Superchunk, Courtney Barnett, Sudan Archives, Thurston Moore, Best Coast, and Devendra Banhart.

The album will be available on Bandcamp for only 24 hours on September 4th as part of Bandcamp Friday. A limited edition signed poster of the artwork will also be available on Friday. All of the proceeds will benefit Fair Fight, a voters rights organization that promotes fair elections around the country through voter education, election reform, and combating voter suppression.
