It’s Monday again. Time to wake up, brew some coffee, and check out this week’s edition of While You Were Away. What’s the scoop this week? We’re talking about Eminem’s emotional new video, The Hives showing off their dancing skills, The Crow 2024 soundtrack, and more.

The Hives show off their dancing skills in ‘Rigor Mortis Radio’

The Hives announce 2024 headline tour | Kerrang!

The Hives have shared their new music video for “Rigor Mortis Radio” taken from their latest album, The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons.

The Filip Nilsson-directed clip sees the band casually going about their day, eventually meeting up to perform a Bob Fosse-inspired dance routine that would make NSYNC jealous. In actuality, digital face swapping was used to turn The Hives into dancing machines.

“This should have come out over a year ago but didn’t,” say the band. “At the time we told you the VHS was stolen by a leprechaun but, lo and behold, this was not true! We just had to wait for technology to catch up with our ideas because The Hives are future!

“It took us a long time to learn those steps but we finally got it right so shut your face about execution and poise as we are not professional dancers. Filmed in ye old London Town and directed by Filip Nilsson from an original screenplay, idea and script by The Hives. Czech it out!”

Ho99o9 And The Armed Cancel Co-headlining North American Tour

Ho99o9 and The Armed have cancelled the North American co-headline tour.

The tour was scrapped due to various reasons. In their statement, Ho9oo9 cites the reason for the cancellation on making their live shows “a better experience” for people, not to mention “currently finalizing and focused on our third album”.

The Armed, meanwhile, lists personal emergencies and things “beyond our control” as the causes for the cancellation: “the domino effect of some cancellations beyond our control (weather, health, etc) in combination with some personal emergencies had forced costly, drastic pivots over the summer. This led to a financial situation that we were hoping to quietly out maneuver in the background over the last couple of months. However, as the tour moving into pre-production has called for resources we simply do not have, we’ve had to face facts that our current scenario is simply untenable. We cannot, at this moment, bring you the show.”

The Armed and Ho99o9 will still appear at After Shock, Louder Than Life, and other scheduled festivals this fall.

Bill Skarsgård becomes the crow in the poster for the reboot of 'The Crow'

The A.V. Club reports the soundtrack for the new film, starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs, features music spanning several decades from the likes of  Joy Division, Foals, Enya, Gary Numan, The Veils, Traitrs, and even Claude Debussy.

In an interview with USA Today, director Rupert Sanders wanted to capture the dark, moody vibe of the movie and looked to some of his favorite bands growing up, which include Joy Division (“Disorder”), Enya (“Boadicea”), and Gary Numan (“M.E.”).
