While You Were Away: Linkin Park’s Big Announcement, Oasis Reunites, Kim Deal’s New LP, And More
Relax, unwind, and kick your feet up with the latest edition of While You Were Away. This week we’re talking about Linkin Park’s mysterious countdown clock, the return of Oasis, Kim Deal’s debut album, and more.
Better Lovers drop new track ‘Future Myopia’
Better Lovers have shared “Future Myopia” from their highly anticipated debut album, Highly Irresonpsible.
“The bass-centric part in the back half of the song is one of my favorite moments on the whole record. Shout out to big Mitch,” Puciato said in a statement. “There were a lotta fun pitches to hit/alley-oops to catch for me in this one. Chorus took me a minute so that was a nice puzzle to figure out too. It’s been a joy writing with these guys and having so much different stuff thrown at me.”
“Future Myopia” follows recent singles “A White Horse Covered in Blood” and “The Flowering.”

Highly Irresponsible arrives on October 25th via SharpTone Records. Pre-order it here.
Oasis will reunite for first tour dates in 16 years
Oasis is back!
The Britpop band have announced plans to reunite for a handful of concerts next summer. These shows will mark the band’s first performances since their 2009 headline appearance at England’s V Festival.
The “Oasis Live ’25” shows will take place in the UK and Ireland in July and August 2025. This includes multiple nights at Principality Stadium in Cardiff; Heaton Park in Manchester; Wembley Stadium in London; Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh; and Croke Park in Dublin.
Tickets for the reunion shows are on sale now, so you better act fast if you want them!
Linkin Park will announce something big later this week
After Linkin Park‘s mysterious countdown clock ghosted fans last week, the band have revealed the announcement will come on September 5th with the band stating: “Be part of something. September 5th. LinkinPark.com.”
Last Wednesday (August 28), the band’s countdown clock hit zero and instead of getting an announcement, fans were treated to the clock ticking back up.
Fans speculate the band will re-form with a new singer to play shows next year. Many suspected Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley to be the new singer after he teased his own announcement on Wednesday, but he quickly shot down those rumors saying “I am not joining Oasis…or Linkin Park. Or any other band for that matter.”
Meanwhile, Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale added to the rumors when she posted a cover of “Crawling” to her Instagram a week before the band’s big announcement.
So what is Linkin Park up to? We’ll have to wait until Thursday to find out.
