WWYA: The Return Of Loathe, New Music From Halestorm, Incubus, And More
You did it. You survived through the “It’s Gonna Be May” memes. Now, you can focus on what’s really important: music news. This week’s While You Were Away is here and we’re talking about Halestorm, Incubus, Loathe, and more.
Incubus detail new album ‘Something In The Water’

Incubus has softly announced their new album, Something In The Water. Though details about their ninth have yet to be revealed, it’s expected to be released in 2025 via Virgin Music. It’ll be their first with new bassist Nicole Row, formerly of Panic! At the Disco.
“I think it’s a really great record, and I’m really proud of it, and all of us in the band are really proud of it,” frontman Brandon Boyd told Flux FM. “We had a wonderful time recording it.”
Row shared the band recently played the album for some select people and remarked, “Watching them hear it for their first time, and feeling so much joy hearing it again myself, has me so stoked to share it with everyone. Let’s hurry up with that release date.”
Green Day unveil new song ‘Ballyhoo’

Green Day have offered a preview of their deluxe edition of Saviors with new track “Ballyhoo.”
“Ballyhoo” is just one of six bonus tracks found on the deluxe edition of the album. Other bonus songs include the previously released “Smash It Like Belushi,” “Underdog,” and “Stay Young,” along with acoustic renditions of “Father to a Son” and “Suzie Chapstick.”

Saviors (édition de luxe) comes out on May 23rd.
Halestorm announce new album ‘Everest’

Halestorm have announced their sixth album, Everest, out on August 8th. The 12-song tracklist features the previously released single “Darkness Always Wins.”
“Our album Everest is a story of our journey as a band, full of beautiful endings and new beginnings,” said Lzzy in a press release. “We weave a tangled web of melancholy, frustration, anger and the vast purgatory of love and love lost. It is a rollercoaster of epic musical detours, great songwriting and completely unhinged twists and turns. Everest is an auditory representation of the four pillars of Halestorm. Let us reintroduce ourselves and invite you into our world…if you dare.”
