WYWA: New Music From Creeper, AFI, Ho99o9, And More
After an unexpected break due to (more) technical difficulties, we’re back! You just can’t keep us down. We’ve missed talking about the hottest music news, and a lot has happened during our absence, so let’s get right to it with this week’s While You Were Away. This week, AFI and Creeper return with highly anticipated new albums, plus new music from Ho99o9 and more.
Beauty School Drop Out share new single “TWO OF US”

Beauty School Drop Out gives us another taste of their upcoming album, WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO? with the new single, “TWO OF US.”
“TWO OF US is a love song (or lack thereof) that’s meant to be equally as heavy hearted as it is a journey of banging synths, whaling guitars, and pulsing dynamics,” the band shares in a statement.
They also shared the song’s accompanying video directed by Sam Fine, which features the band performing the song while drenched in rain. Watch the video below.
Beauty School Drop Out’s debut album, WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO? arrives on September 5th.
Creeper share new single, detail new album ‘Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death’

It’s happening! After announcing their new album Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death back in June, Creeper have unveiled the details of the new record.
The sequel to 2023’s Sanguivore arrives on October 31st and promises to be sleazier and sexier. Speaking to Kerrang about the album, frontman William Von Gould said: “This sequel is sleazier and sexier. And we’re pastiche-ing some of the tropes of rock music that we love, which is really fun. Everyone who’s been involved in it thinks it’s the best thing that the group has made, and we’re really proud of that. At this point in our career, that’s all we can really hope for. Tom Dalgety [producer] told me that he listened to it in his car, and it made him cry!”
The album features 12 tracks, including previously released single “Headstones” and their new song “Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual).” Watch the video below.

AFI return with new album ‘Silver Bleeds the Sun Black’

They’re back! After announcing a surprise U.S. headline tour in June, AFI have announced their long-awaited new album. Dubbed Silver Bleeds The Black Sun…, the album will arrive on October 3rd via Run For Cover.
A press release states: “The goal of Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… was to make an album with a singular mood, something dreamy and ethereal, and the band members found themselves diving headfirst into influences that had always been deeply embedded in AFI’s musical core, but now were being brought to the forefront.”
As a preview, the band have shared brooding new single “Behind the Clock,” which comes with a dark video directed by Gilbert Trejo. Watch the video below.

Ho99o9 unleash new collab with Nova Twins, Pink Siifu, and Yung Skrrt

Ahead of the release of their new album, Tomorrow We Escape, Ho99o9 have shared their new single, “Incline,” featuring Nova Twins, Yung Skrrt, and Pink Siffu. Watch the video below.
The rest of the album also features other notable contributions from Greg Puciato (ex-Dillinger Escape Plan, Jerry Cantrell) on the song “Tapeworm” and Chelsea Wolfe on the track “Immortal.”
“It was a healthy challenge to focus on emotion,” stated the band in a press release. “In the past, a lot of our material was politically charged. That element is present to a degree, but we wanted to take a more personal route. This mindset drove how we wrote songs. Everybody has a struggle. The goal is to find motivation for preservation.”
Tomorrow We Escape drops September 9th. Pre-order it here.
