Avenged Sevenfold continue their Halloween tradition of covering Misfits songs with this year’s offering, “Some Kind of Hate.” “In keeping with the spirit of the season, this year’s offering of ‘Some Kinda Hate’ is available to all,” the band said in a statement. “Enjoy?”

News of the cover dropped last week, with the cover apparently originally appearing as an exclusive single for Avenged Sevenfold’s Deathbats Club — and, per Common Revolt, available only to fans who had bought one of the band’s NFT’s.

Listen to the song below.

In past years, the band have covered Misfits tracks “Halloween,” “Skulls,” and “Astro Zombies.”

Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers has died. He was 48 years old. The band broke the news on Instagram saying:

“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat,” they wrote in a message to fans. “Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player – he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, a the soul in the sound.”

“From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced. His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous. We shared so many moments – wild ones, quiet ones, beautiful ones – and every one of them meant more because Sam was there.

“He was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human. A true legend of legends. And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory. We love you, Sam. We’ll carry you with us, always.”

So far, a cause of death has not been revealed. We send our condolences to Rivers’ friends and family during this difficult time.

On the left stands a bald person with glasses, a trimmed beard, and a serious expression. They are dressed in a dark suit. On the right is another person with a shaved head except for a tuft of hair on top styled into a small mohawk. They wear black clothing and have red face paint forming a horizontal band across their eyes and cheeks, giving them an edgy, theatrical look.

Puscifer have announced their new album, Normal Isn’t, out February 6th via Puscifer Entertainment/Alchemy Recordings/BMG. Listen to lead single “Self Evident” below.

Maynard James Keenan describes their first album in more than five years as “…leaning into our early influences. It’s the place where goth meets punk. It’s where I came from.” Puscifer co-vocalist and multi-instrumental Carina Round added, “Instead of just saying, ‘I want this to sound like Fleetwood Mac on cocaine if they had a baby with PJ Harvey,’ Maynard was showing us his intention, which was really cool. In Puscifer, any idea can totally change without any preciousness, and everybody is on board – not unlike an insane asylum. We found each other because we’re demented in a symbiotic way.”

Talking about the album title, Keenan explained, “Normal Isn’t reflects this time we are living in. As storytellers and artists, our job is to observe, interpret, and report. We take in our environment and share what we see, and what we see around us does not appear normal. Not by a long shot.”

Additionally, Puscifer have announced a 2026 North American tour. See the dates here and pre-order the album here.
