The Regrettes Share New Single ‘You’re So Fucking Pretty’

The Regrettes talk sexuality on new song, You’re So Fucking Pretty

The Regrettes address sexual awakenings and frustrations on new single “You’re So Fucking Pretty.”

“It’s the first time I’ve ever written directly about a girl I had a crush on, and it took me a while for me to even allow my brain to accept the fact that I’m bisexual,” she explains of the track. “I always felt like I couldn’t validate my own feelings because I had never been in a relationship with a girl. But I had a pretty big crush on one of my friends a while ago and this song is an exaggeration of that, but it’s still coming from a very real place. It was the first experience where I was like, ‘Oh, these are real feelings, this isn’t just a sexual attraction,’ and that helped me realize I wasn’t straight.

“This song means so much to me because it also represents the time we spent in Joshua Tree and opening up to my whole band about that experience and not feeling embarrassed or scared of talking about it,” she continues. “Writing this was important for me because it just validated my own sexuality.”

Voivod Shares New Single ‘Planet Eaters’

Voivod have shared new song “Planet Eaters,” lead single from their upcoming album Synchro Anarchy, out February 11th.

Talking about the song and its accompanying video, drummer Away says  “On April 21st, 2021 an animated video for the song “Nothingface” popped up online. The video was done by Pierre Menetrier on an Amiga computer in 1991, which I thought was beyond cool. The spectacular imagery and visual effects were just perfect for a Voïvod song. After wrapping up the recording and mixing of the “Synchro Anarchy” album, we all agreed on “Planet Eaters” as the first single/video. We thought the song had a vintage “Nothingface”/”Hatröss” vibe, so I immediately contacted Pierre and asked him if he could make a video for the song. Once again, the result is just mind-blowing. You just can’t get more Voïvodian than that!”
