While You Were Away: New Music From FEVER 333 And TURNSTILE, Plus Joe Trohman’s Return To Fall Out Boy, And More

On this week’s edition of While You Were Away, we’re talking new music from FEVER 333 and TURNSTILE, plus Joe Trohman’s return to Fall Out Boy, tours on sale, and more.

FEVER 333 return with new lineup and new song

FEVER 333 unleash first single with brand-new band line-up

FEVER 333 are back! The Jason Aalon Butler-fronted project recently returned with a new lineup featuring drummer Thomas Pridgen, bassist April Kae, and guitarist Brandon Davis, following the departure of Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison last year.

“This new era of FEVER 333 is beyond even what I could have imagined,” Jason enthuses. “The talent, the funk, the passion, and the respect for this project April, Thomas, and Brandon have already delivered have shown me, once again, that this project is something more than a band onstage.”

Additionally, the band released their first new single in three years “$WING.”

“In a system that exploits the aforementioned instruments of power (the people) for financial and political advancement, we must collectively understand and redirect the dynamic once we realize that we are not powerless against it,” explains Jason of the track. “$WING is a sonic reminder that you are the power that they seek and you are the resource they need.”

Joe Trohman Will Step Away from Fall Out Boy to Focus on Mental Health

After taking a five-month leave of absence to focus on his mental health, Joe Trohman has returned to Fall Out Boy.

“Hey everyone, I’m officially back!” the guitarist wrote in an Instagram post. “I want to thank everyone for the love and support while I took some time away to focus on my brain and get healthy for my family, my friends, and myself.”

“I also want to thank Ben Young for stepping up and filling in on the shows I missed — he is a true gentleman and a scholar,” Tohman wrote, before turning his attention to Fall Out Boy’s upcoming tour dates. “I’m stoked to be back in action and I can’t wait to see everyone on tour this summer!”

Architects announce split with guitarist Josh Middleton

Architects part ways with guitarist Josh Middleton

Architects have revealed that guitarist Josh Middleton has left the band.

The band revealed the news on their Instagram saying:

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce Josh’s time in the band has come to an end,” reads the statement. “It has gradually become apparent that we need to go our separate ways, but we remain close friends.

“Josh was a life raft for the band after we lost Tom and he gave us a way to keep the band alive through the hardest experience or our lives. We will always be grateful to him for that.

“We wish him the best in his future endeavours and we suggest that everyone keeps an eye out for the new Sylosis record later this year.”

Middleton joined the band as a touring guitarist in 2016 following the death of Tom Searle. He became a full-time member in 2017 while performing his frontman duities in his orginal band Sylosis.

There’s a new Turnstile song in Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave

We didn’t see this one coming. TURNSTILE have contributed a new song, “Listening,” on the latest season of Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson.

The song appears in the Children’s Choir sketch in the fourth episode, but is credited to a fictional band named The Everything-You-Knows, but one quick Google search shows the track was written and performed by TURNSTILE.
