Daft Punk Will Score New Dario Argento Film

Electronic duo Daft Punk have been tapped to score the new Dario Argento film, Occhiali Neri (in English, Black Glasses). The Giallo marks Argento’s first new film in eight years.

Though we don’t have many details about the upcoming film, we know that it will star his daughter, Asia Argento, and that it’s being filmed in Rome and the surrounding countryside. The plot apparently involves a Chinese woman and her child.

Argento confirmed Daft Punk’s involvement in a recent interview with La Repubblica. He reveals how the duo reached out to him and offered to create the film’s score. They plan to send Argento the first bit of material in the near future, and will travel to Rome to meet with him when it’s possible to do so.

Previously, Daft Punk created the score for Tron: Legacy in 2010. Their last studio album, Random Access Memories, was released in 2013.
