After five years, Slayer will reunite for a pair of headlining sets at Riot Fest and Louder Than Life in September 2024. The band will play Rioy Fest in Chicago on September 22nd and Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky on September 27th.

“Nothing compares to the 90 minutes when we’re on stage playing live, sharing that intense energy with our fans,” said frontman Tom Araya via a press release, “and to be honest, we have missed that.”

Added guitarist Kerry King: “Have I missed playing live? Absolutely. Slayer means a lot to our fans; they mean a lot to us. It will be five years since we have seen them.”

A press release states the reunion lineup with feature Kerry King, Tom Araya, Gary Holt, and Paul Bostaph. Is this the start of a bigger reunion tour? We’ll have to wait and see.

Originally, Slayer set out on their farewell tour in the fall 2019, playing what seemed to be their final show on November 30th at The Forum in Los Angeles.

Tickets for Riot Fest and Louder Than Life are on sale now.
