Watch Green Day Perform A Medley Of Hits At NFL Honors

This past weekend, Green Day opened the 10th annual NFL Honors, marking their first live performance in nearly a year.

Performing outside of California’s SoFi Stadium, the band did a three-song medley of “Still Breathing,” “Holiday,” and Dookie classic “Basketcase.” The guys were clearly having a blast and happy to be back on stage. Tre Cool pounded away at the drums with glee, while frontman Billie Joe let out a joyous “woop!” near the end of the performance. It was all too short for fans, but it was great seeing the guys back on stage doing what they love.

Despite Asian tour dates being canceled, Green Day’s Hella Mega Tour featuring Weezer and Fall Out Boy is still on for this year. Last month, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo gave NME a tour update saying “My manager just told me yesterday that the U.S. promoter is still saying it’s gonna happen. That could change, but I’m not making any other plans for the summer.”

Still, live music in 2021 remains uncertain. We’ve already seen other festivals and artists cancel their plans, so it won’t be surprising if Hella Mega follows suit. Fingers crossed that it doesn’t happen!
