Jerry Cantrell Announces New Album ‘I Want Blood’

Alice In Chains singer/guitarist Jerry Cantrell has announced a new solo album I Want Blood, out on October 18th via Double J Music.

Consisting of nine tracks, the album features contributions from the likes of Gun N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Faith No More’s Mike Bordin, Gil Sharone of Team Sleep, Better Lovers’ Greg Puciato, and Lola Colette.

In a press release, Cantrell calls the album “a serious piece of work. It’s a motherfucker. It’s hard, no doubt, and completely unlike Brighten. And that’s what you want, to end up in a different place. There’s a confidence to this album. I think it’s some of my best songwriting and playing, and certainly some of my best singing.”

In anticipation of its release, Cantrell has shared new single “Vilified” featuring Trujillo on bass and Sharone on drums.

“Vilified’ travels a lot of places in just four and a half minutes,” Cantrell said of the song. “It’s got a ferocity and really aggressive vibe to it.”
