PUP have announced their fifth studio album, Who Will Look After the Dogs?, out on May 2nd. They have also shared their latest single “Hallways.”

Produced by John Congleton and recorded in three weeks in Los Angeles, frontman Stefan Babcock reveals he began writing the new album while in isolation after the dissolution of a 10-year relationship.

“Within days of announcing our last album, coincidentally titled The Unraveling of PUPTHEBAND, my life unexpectedly imploded. I wrote the lyrics for ‘Hallways’ while all that was going on. It was a weird fucking week.”

Talking about the lyric from “Hallways” that inspired the title of the new album, Babcock says it was “the very first thing” he wrote for the new record. “I think it’s devastating, but in a ‘holy shit this is overdramatic’ kinda way, at least in context of the line that comes before it,” he said. “That’s what makes it funny to us. That overblown stuff we all say in our dark moments can be hilarious once you’ve cooled off a bit. I don’t know if anyone else thinks it’s funny, but sometimes you gotta laugh at yourself. It’s the only way out of the abyss. Trust me.”

Underoath have announced their new album, The Place After This One, due to arrive on March 28th.

Guitarist Tim McTague stated of the new album, “The Place After This One is a multi-faceted idea. The fact that we grew up so sheltered and spiritual, and are trying to reconcile how we grew up against what we see now in the new age. Underoath, albeit intact and the same, is simultaneously so different.”

He added, “Our band has gone through a lot of chaos. I think there’s something beautiful about the idea of not just abandoning everything when things get weird. Whether it be your faith, or your band, or your marriage, or your relationships. The idea that there is a place after this one, even if it’s with the same people or it’s with the same God, or it’s with the same town. Things compound when it’s good, and you just cut out the things that are bad.”

The album will include previously released singles “Generation No Surrender” and “Survivor’s Guilt” along with new single “All the Love Is Gone.” Listen to it below.
